What is CraveSmart?

Add a recipe once and CraveSmart shows its calories, protein, net carbs, fiber, and fat per serving. Home shows the macros you have left today, and Fit macro target scales a serving to fit them. It counts net carbs by default, and fiber gets its own daily target.

The free plan also includes community recipes with macros per serving, barcode scanning with a nutrition label you can edit, a pantry of built-in USDA foods plus your favorites and recent foods, and Apple Health for your weight, steps, and energy burned.

Who makes CraveSmart?

CraveSmart is built by Frank Cashio at Digital Rescue LLC, a small software company. It launched on the App Store in September 2026. It is made for people who track macros and still want to cook real meals at home, without switching to meal-prep food.

How the calculators are checked

The free calculators use published formulas, cite their sources on each page, and follow the same rules as the app. Automated tests check each formula against worked examples. Each calculator shows who wrote it and when it was last reviewed. The TDEE, macro, net carbs, body fat, and running calculators are free to use, with no sign-up.

Is CraveSmart free?

CraveSmart is free to download, and logging, barcode scanning, and recipes are free. Eligible free users may see ads. Premium is an optional subscription that removes ads and adds CraveBuddy, recipe import, and logging with Siri and Apple Watch.
